Letter: Great concert in Elburn

By on March 11, 2010

The Da Capo Duo presented a free concert at the Elburn & Countryside Community Center on March 6.

It was extremely professional and delightful to hear. Their program had a wide range of selections: Charles DeBussy’s “Claire de Lune,” Chopin’s “Fantastic Impromtu” and “Blackbird” by Paul McCartney, to name a few.

Kristen Paxinos and Ben Westfall have exciting biographical sketches, and they demonstrated their talents with the concert.

Talking with a concert attendee who has played guitar professionally for over 40 years, he stated that he recently began taking lessons from Ben because he still had a lot to learn. He stated that Ben is not only a professional player but also a fantastic teacher. His lesson approach was the best he had ever had, because he made it so simple to understand. That bodes well for the young as well as older students.

Thank you, Kristen and Ben. We hope everyone in our community will support these musicians and performing arts in Elburn. Be sure to look for the next opportunity to enjoy a performance of Kristen and Ben. Elburn citizens have a wonderful opportunity to enjoy these venues but also to enroll in the classes offered. The fees are reasonable and well within the reach of most people and parents.
