Elburn man killed in early-morning crash

BATAVIA—A two-car crash this week resulted in the death of an Elburn resident, Jesus J. Escalante, 31, of the 900 block of President Street.

The accident occurred at 3:40 a.m. March 20 at the intersection of Fabyan Parkway and Randall Road in Batavia.

The initial investigation showed that a blue Chevrolet Blazer traveling north on Randall, and a black Chevrolet Aveo that was westbound on Fabyan, collided, causing heavy damage to both vehicles.

Escalante, who was driving the Aveo, was transported to Delnor Hospital in Geneva and pronounced dead shortly after arriving.

The driver of the Blazer, Patrick A. Dugal, 36, of Hanover Park, also was taken to Delnor, where he was treated and released.

Batavia Police Department and the Kane County Accident Reconstruction Team are investigating the accident.
