ELBURN—The Elburn Village Board decided April 5 that the village no longer will audiotape public meetings of its committees and board.

The village is not required under state law to audiotape the meetings. The village clerk will continue to take detailed notes of the meetings and compile the minutes.

The village will continue recording public hearings and closed sessions.
