Church news for April 22
St. Peter barn sale changes venue
What do you get when you take one gigantic garage sale and turn it into 10 smaller garage sales? The same great bargains and 10 times the fun.
Organizers of the annual St. Peter Barn Sale are excited about this year’s new venue. In the past, the Barn Sale was held on one weekend in September. For the first time in over 30 years, the sale will be held on 10 different days.
The first Barn Sale will be held Saturday, May 1, from 9 a.m. to noon. The location has also changed. It has moved to the Campana Building, located at the northwest corner of Fabyan Parkway and Route 31 in Batavia.
As with all events of this magnitude, it takes hundreds of volunteers to make it successful. Parish members have been working for the last several weeks to gear up for the first sale. Volunteers sort, price and display merchandise. There is also a crew that picks up donations when they are too large for donors to transport.
This event also requires many donations. The Barn Sale began accepting donations at the warehouse in March, but more are always needed. The more donations, the better the selection for customers.
If interested in making a donation or in volunteering at the Barn Sale, contact John Easton, firstname.lastname@example.org, or Mike Haddad, email@example.com.
The 2010 Barn Sale dates are as follows: May 1 and 15, June 5 and 26, July 17 and 31, Aug.14, Sept. 4, 18 and 19.
Sales will run from 9 a.m. to noon. Times of the final two days may be extended. For more information, visit www.stpeterchurch.com.
