Community emergency response training offered

ELBURN—Local residents who are 18 and older may participate in the Community Emergency Response Team (C.E.R.T.) training, to prepare them to assist the police and fire departments with emergency and disaster response.
The training will take place at Village Hall, 301 E. North St., Elburn, at 7 p.m. Thursdays, May 6 through June 10.
Elburn Police Department and Elburn and Countryside Fire Department will conduct the training in skills including fire suppression, disaster first-aid and psychology, search and rescue, terrorism and weather.
At the end of the training, participants will take part in a simulated-emergency response.
