A 16-year-old male from Georgia led police on a high-speed chase at 1:50 p.m. Saturday after he stole a local resident’s vehicle parked in front of a business in Elburn on Saturday. The vehicle, a 2007 Saturn Ion, which was left running outside the Mobil gas station at 213 S. Main St.
Elburn police were able to follow the offender because the vehicle had a GPS device.
He was apprehended after going north on Route 47 to Elgin, Ill., after hitting a median in that vicinity.
The offender was wanted in three states including Georgia and Iowa.
