Kops and Kids at the Movies continues

By on July 9, 2010

MAPLE PARK—More than 20 youths attended the June 11 and June 25 Kops and Kids at the Movies at the Civic Center drop-in center, Police Chief Mike Acosta said.

Acosta started the youth drop-in center and movie program as a way to promote goodwill between residents and police, and to offer something for kids to do in a safe environment.

In addition to a film, Kops and Kids offers free popcorn, candy, juice and pizza from Casey’s General Store. Attendees also receive stickers and temporary tattoos.

“Aliens In the Attic” is the next movie event on Friday, July 9, at 1:30 p.m. at the drop-in center. Look for additional movie dates in July and August.
