Batavia—Delnor Hospital and Valley Express Care, a group of emergency medicine physicians on staff at Delnor, joined forces to open an immediate care facility in Batavia called Delnor Express Care.
The facility opened Monday at the corner of Randall Road and Fabyan Parkway.
The 3,600-square-foot facility was designed to provide the most efficient flow for both patients and staff. It houses a central work area surrounded by four exam rooms and two procedure rooms, as well as a radiology suite and laboratory area.
“Our goal is to provide accessible, efficient, high-quality and cost-effective medical care for patients with minor illnesses and injuries; the type of medical complaints that typically don’t require an emergency room visit,†said emergency medicine physician Jeffrey Bohmer, M.D., co-medical director for Delnor Express Care.
The types of services that are provided at the center include care of cold and flu symptoms, ear infections, allergic reactions, minor scrapes, bruises and cuts requiring stitches, and minor sprains and fractures, and initial evaluation of abdominal and back pain.
“One component that sets Delnor Express Care apart from other immediate care facilities is our accessibility,†said administrator Brad Bohmer. “A retail location allows us to be in the path of the customer. More importantly, patients won’t have to sacrifice quality for convenience as the care will be provided by board-certified physicians and overseen by ER doctors from the hospital. Patients will receive the same great quality and service excellence that they’ve come to expect from Delnor.â€
The facility is open seven days a week and most holidays, with extended hours Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday hours are from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. No appointments are needed. Most insurance plans are accepted.
A second Delnor Express Care location will open in South Elgin this fall. The South Elgin facility will be located at 552 Randall Road near the Target store.
