Developer in default for unfinished work

SUGAR GROVE—The Sugar Grove Village Board declared Tuesday that The Landings developer, Sugar Grove Holdings, LLC, defaulted on its obligation to complete improvements in the subdivision.

By declaring the default, the village now may seek payment for the improvements from the developer’s bonding company.

The Landings still needs a second layer of pavement in a section of Division Drive, which runs through the development, Sugar Grove Community Development Director Richard Young said. In addition, the developer has not installed some sidewalks, landscaping and streetlights, Young said.

“At this time we are still evaluating the amount of work yet to be completed and the associated estimated cost,” Young said.
