Hastert and Delay proved they could spend with the best of them. The only difference was where the money went (their rich friends) and that there was no funding for what was spent. In order to spend, you must tax. Republicans spend and leave IOUs. Democrats at least understand the concept of tax and spend. You have to look at individuals on their own merit – not party affiliation. That is the real deficiency with voters today. We shouldn’t be voting for corrupt politicians of any party.

It’s not just a Democrat phenomenon. Bush, Cheney, Delay and Hastert wasted more than their share without any input from Democrats. Illinois is one of the most mismanaged states in the country. How is the unemployment rate in Illinois Foster’s fault? Isn’t that more a function of the poorly run state government which Hultgren is a part of? The reason we have such horrible government is because people send their local failures to state government and their state failures to Washington. It’s time to wake up and stop the cycle.

Given the economy, the number of people out of work and uninsured – the ability to be able to have health coverage is looking at least hopeful. The government can’t do much to relieve unemployment so it’s foolish to blame Foster unless you want expanded government so you can provide government jobs. Go ahead and vote for Hultgren. Illinois is $13 billion dollars in the hole. What has Hultgren done to fix it? Occupying space, collecting a check and saying NO isn’t fixing anything but I guess he could do that as well in DC as he has in Springfield. The piles of debt are the result of trying to salvage a failing economy – not a spending spree. We’re still fighting an unfunded war thanks to George Bush. The current debt is a small price to pay for avoiding the worst unimagineable Depression this country has yet to see.
