Billy Osborne, a musician from Elburn, spent two weeks this summer studying percussion and steelpan at Birch Creek Music Performance Center in Door County, Wis.

Billy is the son of Tammy and Bill and is a student at Kaneland High School. He was among just 38 musicians selected from throughout the country to attend the Percussion and Steel Band session at the school, which provides intensive, performance-based instruction to musicians age 13-18 by immersing them in a professional, mentoring environment.
