A three-car accident on Hankes Road on Tuesday at 1:10 p.m. resulted in minor injuries and the apprehension of a woman with an outstanding warrant for her arrest.
Ellen L. Bonewitz, 67, of the 800 block of Elm Street, was driving west on Hankes Road in a 1999 Infiniti when she ran into two cars stopped at the intersection of Hankes Road and Fairfax Circle.
Karin E. Galgano, 50, of the 1300 block of Eastwood Drive in Aurora, was driving a 2000 Oldsmobile Alero and was stopped at the intersection, waiting for the car in front of her to turn left.
Patricia A. Anton, 55, of the 100 block of Fairfax Circle, was in a 2009 Dodge Journey stopped and waiting to make a left turn onto Fairfax Circle when she was struck from behind by the Alero.
Galgano suffered facial lacerations and was taken to Mercy Provena Hospital for treatment.
During a background check, Sugar Grove Police found an outstanding warrant for the arrest of Anton for financial identity theft in Champaign County. They took her into custody Tuesday evening with a $75,000 bond.
Anton paid the $7,500 in cash and was released with a court date of March 6 in Champaign County.
