Marmion students receive AP Scholar awards

The College Board’s Advanced Placement Program named 24 Marmion Academy students AP Scholars.

This title is given in recognition of their exceptional achievement on the college-level Advanced Placement (AP) Exams. Only 18 percent of the nearly 1.8 million students who took AP Exams in May 2010 performed at a sufficiently high level to merit such recognition.

Local students who achieved Scholar with Honor status were Thomas Cruger and Kevin Filip, both of Sugar Grove; Edward Malnar of LaFox; and Matthew West of Montgomery.

The local student who achieved AP Scholar status was Joseph Burroughs of Elburn.
