ROCHELLE—There was no rest this past weekend for Kaneland tennis.

Gearing up for the upcoming sectional, the Lady Knights’ talent was put on display at the first-ever Northern Illinois Big XII meet in Rochelle on Friday and Saturday.

After the last volley, Kaneland ended up with a second-place finish in the NIB-12 East gathering with 16 points.

Sycamore took the East crown to become division champ, while Dixon was tops in the West.

For KHS, senior cornerstone Lindsay Jurcenko was a fourth-place finisher in the No. 1 singles bracket, while teammate Amelia Napiorkowski took second in the No. 2 bracket.

Kaneland now gears for the postseason, namely the IHSA sectional at St. Charles East High School on Saturday, Oct. 16.
