In support of John G. Dalton
Most of us hope that we are never required to appear before a judge. However, the reality of today’s world is that we—or someone we love—is now or will soon be involuntarily in contact with the judicial system. The likelihood of having a judge directly impact our personal lives is increasing daily.
As voters, we have a voice in the initial selection of who becomes a judge. The good news is that we each get a vote in who makes the decisions that impact people’s lives. The bad news is that many of us pay little attention to who the candidates for judge are. Some choose not vote for any of the candidates. Some vote along partisan lines, and the courtroom is no place for politics.
What qualities do you want in the individual who might be making an important decision about you or a loved one? My “ideal†judge is one who is highly intelligent and has unimpeachable integrity. I want to believe that he/she is unequivocally committed to doing the right thing. Further, I want this very smart person, who is capable of making very difficult decisions, to also have great compassion for the individuals whose fates he/she will be deciding.
I will be voting for John G. Dalton for Circuit Court Judge. I believe that John G. Dalton will be a very fine judge right from the start, and that with time and experience, he will be an extraordinary judge.
