American Water Works Association announces scholarship opportunity

ILLINOIS—The Illinois Section of American Water Works Association (ISAWWA) announced today that up to $3,500 in scholarships has been made available through the Safe Water Scholarship Program. High school, college and continuing education students pursuing a degree or certification related to drinking water or water quality are eligible. Scholarships are also available for high school students to attend summer enrichment programs with an applicable science or engineering focus.
Applicable fields of study for the scholarship program include civil and environmental engineering, chemistry, biology and water system operations. The application can be found on ISAWWA’s website, www.isawwa-portal.com, under the outreach program link. The application deadline is Dec. 15. Scholarship recipients will be announced in February 2011.
