Bowling drops two NIB-12 meetings

Kaneland—Kaneland bowling, despite a 1-11 dual record, is still raring to go against any Northern Illinois Big XII opponent on its schedule.

The Lady Knights just hope their fortunes turn around sooner rather than later.

Kaneland spent Thursday afternoon battling visiting Ottawa of the NIB-12 West and lost a 2,647-2,446 affair at Mardi Gras Lanes.

On Tuesday, KHS took a trip to Rochelle, where it lost 2,779-2,468.

Leading the way for the Lady Knights was senior Holly Thomas, who bowled a team-high series of 484. Junior teammate Seleana Isaacs was close behind with a 455 series.

High games for KHS were bowled by Isaacs at 181 and Thomas at 167.

On the JV end, the Kaneland squad fell 2,227-1,797. High series was bowled by Madi Bluml at 316, followed by Michelle Bohanek at 312. High game came in the form of Alex Hornback’s 124.

Against the Lady Hubs, Thomas’ 535 series was best on the team and second-best for the meet. Anne Salerno was next for Kaneland with a 447 series. Top games were bowled by Salerno at 198 and Thomas at 188. Rochelle’s JV earned a 1,750-1,648 win over the Lady Knights.

The Lady Knights now prepare for a trip to Geneva on Wednesday, Jan. 26.
