My guess is that with 18 years in State government, Lauzen is unwilling to give up his place at the pension trough. We’d all like to be paid so well with a fat pension for a part-time job. It’s the best part-time job money can buy.

Will he back Jack Franks’ House Bill 260 which would eliminate pensions for future legislators and end the General Assembly Retirement System? I’m willing to bet not. Lauzen is a talker and not so much a man of action. This bill doesn’t go far enough because it doesn’t address the current drain on the system but at least it’s a start.
