WYSE advances to sectionals

Kaneland—The Kaneland WYSE academic team will advance to sectionals at Northern Illinois University. On Feb. 1, the team qualified with a second-place finish at the Waubonsee Community College regional competition.

Malory Groen placed third in biology, John Kintz placed third in math and physics, Kaylee McPhee placed third in biology and first in English, Sarah Morgan placed second in biology and first in English, Keara Palpant placed first in math, Josias Rodriquez placed first in biology, Nathaniel Snyder placed second in physics and first in engineering graphics, Molly Speckman placed third in chemistry, Brandon Stahl placed second in physics, and Ryan Straughn placed first in engineering graphics.

Also contributing to the overall second-place team finish were Matthew Grimm, Katie Meuer, Danielle Thomas, and Cara Zagel.

The WYSE team is coached by Sharon Beck.
