Feb. 18 police blotter

The following reports were obtained from local police departments. The individuals charged with crimes are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
Elburn
• Click here for information on a lawsuit filed by a U.S. Citizen who lives in South Korea, who has filed a lawsuit against the Elburn police department. (link added Friday, Feb. 18 at 10:34 a.m)
• Jennifer N. Stuart, 36, of the 900 block of Maple Avenue in Maple Park, was charged with driving with invalid registration, no insurance and a suspended license at 5 p.m. on Feb. 12. She was released with a court date of 10 a.m. on March 4.
• Michael E. Clauson, 48, of the 0-100 block of W. Carol Ave., Cortland, was charged with driving under the influence, illegal transportation of alcohol and an obstructed rear license plate at 3:31 a.m on Feb. 11.
Sugar grove
• Sugar Grove Police on Feb. 12 responded to a call on the 900 block of Pinecrest Drive, where a resident claimed approximately $10,000 in gold coins was stolen from his home.
The man had removed the gold coins from his safe in August and placed them in several boxes in his basement office with the intention of photographing and cataloging the coins in order to organize his assets. The coins would then be placed in a safety deposit box and insured.
The theft is believed to have taken place between August 2010 and Feb. 12, 2011.
