St. Gall announces
Ash Wednesday schedule

ELBURN—The St. Gall Catholic Church in Elburn announced the following services to observe Ash Wednesday, the traditional beginning of Lent.
On Tuesday, March 8, there will be an Anticipation Mass at 7:30 p.m. to mark the beginning of Lent. Ashes will be distributed during the Mass.
Services on Ash Wednesday, March 9, will be at 8:30 a.m. (Mass and distribution of ashes), 12:10 p.m. (Word service and distribution of ashes), and at 7:30 p.m. (Mass and ashes).
In addition to the above services, there will also be a short service with distribution of ashes for religious education students at 4:30 p.m. and 6 p.m. on Tuesday, March 8, and Wednesday, March 9. All religious education parents are welcome to attend the service with their children.

University Singers
perform March 12

BATAVIA—The University Singers, from the University of Missouri, will perform Saturday, March 12, at Bethany Lutheran Church, 8 S. Lincoln St., Batavia.
The University Singers have performed at numerous venues in the United States, Mexico, Germany, Austria, Hungary, Slovakia, Czech Republic, Russia, Bulgaria and Australia.
The concert at Bethany is free, but there will be a free-will offering to offset the cost of the trip. For more information, contact Bethany Lutheran Church at (630) 879-3444.

Marmion offers
Day of Recollection

AURORA—The Marmion Alumni Association will sponsor a Day of Recollection on Saturday, March 12, from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Marmion Abbey & Academy, 1000 Butterfield Road, Aurora.
The Day of Recollection is an opportunity for couples and individuals to examine their life and circumstances in a religious and peaceful setting. The event will include Mass, speakers featuring Monsignor Robert Hoffman and Abbot John Brahill, O.S.B., lunch, and an opportunity for confessions and meditation.
A free-will offering of $20 is suggested in support of this special day. Reservations are required no later than Monday, March 7. St. Gall to hold
annual Turkey Dinner

Elburn—St. Gall will hold its 128th annual Turkey Dinner on Sunday, March 13, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the St. Gall Parish Hall, Route 47 at Shannon Street in Elburn.
This family-style dinner includes turkey, mashed potatoes, gravy, stuffing, corn, green beans, coleslaw, cranberry sauce, rolls and desert.
Prices are $10 for adults, $7 for seniors, and $4 for children ages 6 to 12.Children 5 years and under eat free. Carry-outs are available at the American Legion Hall for $8.
In honor of the church’s centennial celebration, every 100th meal purchased at the Parish Hall will be free.
