The Kaneland Community Fine Arts Festival just days away

Kaneland—The Kaneland Community Fine Arts Festival will take place on Sunday, April 10, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., featuring over 50 local, regional and national professional visual and performing artists.

Come see over 500 student art pieces displayed and talk to the visual artists about their mediums. Participate in the AMEBA Acrobatic & Aerial Dance Workshop. Have your caricature drawn, paint or create a glass piece at our visual artist workshops. Bring your children to the Pre-K Art Experience. Take home a balloon character or have your face painted. Relive your past or introduce a new person to the songs of School House Rock. Celebrate America listening to the Ceremonial Band of the Great Lakes Naval Base.

There is something for everyone at this event hosted by the Kaneland School District, now in its 12th year. All events take place on the campus of Kaneland High School.

Although admission is free, refreshments and souvenirs will be offered for an affordable price. Open Range Southwest Grill Restaurant and the Kaneland Music Boosters, both sponsors of the festival, will provide refreshments. Besides buying a festival T-shirt or tote bag, you can help the festival and yourself by buying a 50/50 raffle ticket, buying chances to win a 12-month membership to the Delnor Health and Wellness Center or by taking our exit survey to be entered in a drawing to win a gift basket.

While the festival takes place only once a year, you can enjoy outstanding visual art at the festival’s third annual Juried Art Show, running through April at the Sugar Grove Public Library, 125 S. Municipal Drive, during regular library hours.

Over 50 pieces of 2D and 3D art by 18 artists will be professionally judged, and winners will be announced at the awards ceremony and artist reception on Thursday, April 14, from 6:30 to 9 p.m. This event is also free to the public.
