KANELAND—Kaneland baseball came back from an early deficit in spades against the host Hubs.
On April 13, KHS used a four-run third and a three-run seventh inning to overtake Rochelle by a 10-6 clip.
The Knights’s current mark is 7-4 with a 3-0 record in the Northern Illinois Big XII conference.
Saturday’s scheduled outing against Oswego was cancelled due to inclement weather.
Against the Hubs on Wednesday, Rochelle took a 3-1 lead after two innings before Kaneland put up four in the third and two more in the fourth for a 7-3 lead. Rochelle came back with two in the bottom of the inning and one in the fifth to cut it to 7-6 before the three-run outburst by the Knights.
Starting pitcher Sam Komel improved to 3-0 with two strikeouts to his name, and Kyle Davidson earned his second save.
Outfielder Joe Camiliere went 3-for-3 with two doubles and three RBI, while Davidson went 2-for-4 at the plate with a double.
In sophomore action, Matt Limbrunner got his first win of the season on the mound, and also went 2-for-3 with two RBI at the plate in a 10-3 win over Rochelle on April 13.
The varsity contingent was scheduled to head to DeKalb for a rain makeup contest on Wednesday, and will also host the Barbs on Thursday, April 21, at 4:30 p.m.
