Sharon E. Babros, 60, of Maple Park, died on Monday, April 25, 2011, in her residence. Born on June 5, 1950, in Kenosha, Wis., she was the daughter of Edward and Martha (Schindler) Babros.
She was married to the late Paul Sauber on Feb. 2, 1972, in Wisconsin; he preceded her in death on Sept. 17, 1977. Sharon was working for the Opportunity House in Sycamore as a stay-in caregiver; she was also a substitute school teacher for the Kaneland schools from 1996 to 2006.
Sharon has lived in the Maple Park community since the 1970s, moving here from Paddock Lake, Wis. Sharon loved drawing, her students, arts and crafts, gardening, and watching her favorite NASCAR racer Greg Biffle. She graduated from Central High School in Salem, Wis.; she then graduated from University of Wisconsin-Platteville.
Survivors include sons, Tom (Dawn) Sauber of Cortland, Joe (Alana) Heyob of Aurora; grandchildren, Briana, Madison, Lucas; sisters, Cathy (Bill) Schutzen of Bristol, Wis., Pat Babros of Paddock Lake; brother, Mike (Peg) Babros of Paddock Lake. She was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband, Paul Sauber.
Visitation will be held on Friday, April 29, from 1 to 4 p.m., with a family-held service to be conducted at 3:30 p.m. Cremation will follow services at the Finch Crematory.
