Donald Joe Bauer

Donald Joe Bauer, 74, passed away June 12, 2011, in Harlingen, Texas.

He was born April 1, 1937, in Minot, N.D., the son of Huldah (Sheilke) and Joe Bauer.

He married Carolyne (Anderson) Bauer on Nov. 27, 1959.

He retired from Burgess Norton in Geneva in 1992. He served in the U.S. Navy from January 1955 until March 25, 1958. He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, in Butte, N.D.

He was interested in surf fishing in the Gulf of Mexico, camping, auto racing, and was a fan of A.J. Foyt.

He is survived by his wife, Carolyne; his children, Lauri (Bauer) Novak, and her husband, Michael Devo, and Douglas Bauer, both of Elgin; and step-grandchildren, Ian and Ryan Devo. He was preceded in death by his parents; and his sister, Donna.

Memorial services were held Monday, June 20, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Butte, N.D.
