Construction work slated for rest of summer

KANE COUNTY—Motorists can expect some delays as construction crews begin work on a few projects. New turn lanes will be installed at Hankes and Ke-De-Ka roads in Sugar Grove and there may be some delays due to reduced speed limits, flaggers, and intermittent lane closures. Work hours are Monday through Saturday for up to 10 hours a day. Anticipated completion is mid-September.

Crews are resurfacing Bunker Road between Main Street and Keslinger Road in LaFox through late August. There could be daily lane closures Monday through Saturday, and motorists are advised to find alternate routes, especially after fresh oil is applied to the road.

Additionally, bridge rehabilitation work at Harter Road over Welch Creek Bridge is scheduled to begin on Monday, Aug. 1, and end by Friday, Sept. 2, weather permitting. Improvements will consist of the removal and replacement of the bridge deck and guardrail, as well as miscellaneous paving. The work will require the closure of Harter Road from Main Street to Dauberman Road. Traffic will be detoured around the construction zone via a marked detour route using Main Street and Dauberman Road.
