KHS Boys XC invades Peoria

PEORIA—While the total team standings didn’t lean the Knights’ way in the latest edition of the Peoria Woodruff Invite on Saturday, signs emerged that were encouraging for depth in boys’ cross country.

Whatever depth questions linger will go a long way to being cast aside with the younger Knights doing their part.

Sophomore Kyle Carter was tops for the runners in Knight garb, running the Peoria course in 16 minutes, nine seconds, good for 41st place.

Carter’s total was good for a personal best, as well. John Meisinger was next for the squad with a time of 16:19, followed by junior Brandon Huber’s PR of 16:40.

Teammate Conor Johnson was spiked, lost a show, was knocked down and stepped on, but managed to finish fourth on the team with 16:47.

Saturday, Sept. 17, brings the annual Eddington Invite with a start time of 9 a.m.
