Volleyball sees strides in 4-1 showing at Bartlett Tourney
KANELAND—With the leaps and bounds in a positive direction from Kaneland volleyball the last five years, sometimes second place isn’t so bad.
With four wins out of five matches, the Lady Knights finished second place out of six squads at the Bartlett Tournament on Saturday.
Kaneland also tagged visiting Morris on Tuesday as conference action began.
Kaneland is now 11-3 (1-0 NIB-12).
KHS defeated Woodstock North 25-10, 25-12 to kick things off in Bartlett. The Lady Knights then beat Dundee-Crown by a 25-15, 25-14 clip. West Chicago beat Kaneland to continue its undefeated campaign, 25-22, 25-21. KHS then beat the host school 25-13, 25-27, 15-11 before ending the day with a 25-19, 27-26 win over Larkin.
Lauren Banbury came away with 24 kills while Jenny Lubic had 47 assists during the day.
Against the Lady Redskins, Kaneland’s 25-17, 25-19 win was highlighted by Katy Dudzinski’s 10 kills and Kylie Siebert’s 20 digs.
The Lady Knights’ venture to the new DeKalb High School for conference play on Thursday, Sept. 15.
