KANELAND—Lady Knights volleyball may have dropped its very first meeting at the brand new DeKalb High School to the hosts, but if there’s a silver lining, they’ll meet again Oct. 11.

Thursday saw Kaneland suffer a rare 2011 loss to the host Lady Barbs in Northern Illinois Big XII action by a sweep of 25-17, 25-23.

KHS now stands at 11-4 on the season, and 1-1 in NIB-12 play.

Ashley Prost had eight assists and five digs on the night, while teammate Kylie Siebert had 10 digs. Katy Dudzinski added nine kills in the losing effort.

In sophomore action, the Lady Knights also dropped the match, 25-19, 25-18 to the Lady Barbs.

The freshman levels came away with a win back to Maple Park, however. “A” took a 25-14, 21-25, 25-20 matchup, while “B” took a 25-23, 25-11 sweep.

The varsity roster looks forward to a NIB-12 clash with the visiting Rochelle Lady Hubs on Thursday, Sept. 22.
