Lady Knights tennis snags first at Rochelle Invite

KANELAND—In a lighter week for Kaneland High School tennis, the Lady Knights’ action still carried quite a bit of weight.

Traveling to Rochelle for the host school’s invite, the Lady Knights came away with a first-place total of 24 points, compared to second-place Freeport’s 21.

Samantha Schrepferman went 4-0 on her way to a first in the No. 1 singles bracket, while Jelly Emmanouil went undefeated in No. 2 singles. The No.1 doubles tandem of Amelia Napiorkowski and Madi Jurcenko went 3-1 and took first, while the No. 2 doubles unit of Jenna Bicos and Jess Woodward took a second place at 3-1.
