LILY LAKE—Join Grace Lutheran Church of Lily Lake, 5N600 Hanson Road, for Octoberfest from 5 to 8 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 8. There will be a pig roast, hot dogs, potato salad, baked beans and s’mores. St. Gall Church
to hold annual
Blessing of Animals

ELBURN—St. Gall Church, Elburn, will hold its annual blessing of animals on Saturday, Oct. 8, at 10 a.m. in the Parish Parking lot, 120 W. Shannon St. The celebration is typically scheduled around the feast day (Oct. 4) of St. Francis of Assisi, who is the patron saint of animals and the environment. All residents and their animals are invited to attend the blessing.

Lord of Life Church
to hold ‘Ready to GO’
community service week

LAFOX—Lord of Life Church will host “Ready to GO,” a community week of service, Oct. 9-15. There are 15 different sites for community involvement, with something for everyone—child care, cooking, baking, construction, landscaping, food/clothing/furniture donations and transportation. Taize Worship Oct. 9
at St. Charles Episcopal

ST. CHARLES—St. Charles Episcopal Church, 994 N. 5th Ave. (Route 25), invites the community to experience Taize Worship on Sunday, Oct. 9, at 7:30 p.m.

Faith Baptist Church
celebrates 175 years
with anniversary concert

GENEVA—Faith Baptist Church celebrates its third year at the Mill Creek location and 175 years with an anniversary concert on Sunday, Oct. 9, at 4 p.m.

Beef supper, bazaar
at Kaneville UMC

KANEVILLE—Kaneville United Methodist Church will host its annual Beef Supper and Bazaar Saturday, Oct. 15. The bazaar begins at 4 p.m., carry-outs can be picked up beginning at 4:30 p.m., and supper is served from 5 to 7 p.m. Cost is $10 for adults, $5 for K-sixth grade, and pre-schoolers are $1.
Dinner includes roast beef, mashed potatoes and gravy, corn, coleslaw, cranberry relish, rolls and homemade desserts. The church is located at 46W764 Main Street Road. Call (630) 365-1175 for information.

Boys Life Plan Weekend
A Boys Life Plan Weekend is scheduled Oct. 21-22 for eighth through 11th grade boys to help them plan for what they will do after high school. The weekend includes career and interest testing, career process development, a bags tournament, an overnight camp out with a bonfire and three meals included.
