Richard ‘Dick’ Wise
Richard “Dick” Wise, 79, of Geneva, entered into eternal life on Dec. 3, 2011, surrounded by the love and prayers of his wife and children.
Dick was born on June 27, 1932, the son of Roy and Georgia V. (Mooney) Wise in Galatin, Mo. His family moved to Elburn in 1941. Over the ensuing years, Dick would meet the love of his life, Ellen. They were married on Oct. 24, 1964, and together lovingly raised their children: Mary, Susan and Michael. After 24 years at General Mille, Dick retired only to return to his initial profession as a barber until declining health forced him to lay down the tools of his trade.
He is survived by his loving wife Ellen; four children, Mary (Michael) Frandsen, Susie Wise and her husband Michael Donahoe and Michael (Heather) Wise; eight grandchildren, Sara, Cory and Kyle Frandsen, Jessica Holander, Billy Creutz, Megan,Thomas and Andrew Wise; two brothers, Max (Jean) Wise of Apple Canyon, Ill., and Bud (Marilyn) Wise of Elburn; two sisters, Kay Hartgrave of Eugene, Ore., and Judy Gould of Batavia; several nieces, nephews and a family of friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Dean and Cricket Wise.
Private family services have already been held.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established in his name to benefit his favorite charities including CNS Home, Health and Hospice.
