BATAVIA—The 5-Star Learning Ranch recently held a two-week food drive for the Batavia Interfaith Food Pantry, with staff members and families making donations. As part of the food drive, parents and their children took part in a volunteer field trip to deliver the food. The field trip turned into participation by seven families, with 5-Star Learning Ranch students helping to stock shelves.

The field trip became a real learning experience as the children categorized their donations by food type in the appropriate area of the food pantry.

When the 5-Star volunteers arrived at the Batavia Interfaith Food Pantry, they found that they had collected two full shopping carts of food.

If you would like to make a donation, the food pantry is located at 100 Flinn Dr. in Batavia. You can also call (630) 879-3784 or e-mail info@bataviafoodpantry.org.

Volunteers are needed and information can be found by e-mailing volunteer@bataviafoodpantry.org.
