So let me get this straight. We received $16,800,000 in fall 2009 in the form of stimulus money (i.e. taxpayer's money) and are going to use this for water/flooding projects and the like. My question is why does a taxpayer who lives in New Mexico or Kansas or Rhode Island, etc. have to give their hard-earned tax money to the government so they can decide how it should be spent and where? Shouldn't this be a county or state issue instead of a National monetary one? How are other people from other states supposedly going to benefit from this? They don't even know where Sugar Grove, IL is?! Now Altman maybe YOUR partison politics is in the wrong place. We are broke because of stuff like this from our current administration.

After reading this article 2 things come to mind. Why hasn't our republican controlled county board made any use of the almost $15 million dollars that they have access to from the federal stimulus package? Are we suffering at the hands of party politics that are ruining this country and are letting this money sit so as not to help our president turn things around? And why does this same boards point man on this drainage issue Mr. Frasz feel the need to play partisan party politics by interjecting a republican talking point when he refers to the American recovery and reinvestment act, with his parties never ending bashing of our presidents attempts to fix Mr. Frasz' parties mess by calling it the American Recovery and Reinvestment Tax Act. Look it up Mr. Frasz then try and act like a responsible official that is in office to do a job for everyone in your district and stick to the facts
