Elburn police blotter
The following reports were obtained from the Elburn Police Department. The individuals charged with crimes are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
â€¢ Courtney A. Modaff, 26, of the 1500 block of South First Street in DeKalb, was arrested at 2:20 a.m. March 15 for driving under the influence of alcohol. Police stopped her on Keslinger Road near Thryselius Drive in Elburn. She also was cited for driving without valid registration and improper lane usage.
â€¢ Douglas M. Rominski, 33, of the 400 block of Trigger Avenue in Elgin, was arrested at 2:07 a.m. March 13, for driving under the influence of alcohol. Police stopped him on Route 47 at Prairie Street in Elburn. He also was cited for speeding and operating an uninsured motor vehicle.
Fire at park
â€¢ Someone reported at 5:30 p.m. March 14 that a garbage can at Lions Park in Elburn had been extinguished by an off-duty firefighter. Police reported to the scene and found that it actually was a player’s bench, which was discolored from the fire but not damaged. When they arrived at the park, the responding officers saw a group of youths walking west on South Street from the park.
â€¢ A female resident of the 600 block of Willow Street in Elburn reported at 11 p.m. March 7 that clothing, jewelry and handbags valued at $5,760, were missing from her home. She returned to the residence during the process of moving and discovered that the door was unlocked, then discovered that items were gone. Police found no sign of forced entry.
