Waubonsee events offer financial aid help

By on February 10, 2012

SUGAR GROVE—Waubonsee Community College will host two events this month designed to help students apply for financial aid for the 2012-13 academic year.

Waubonsee will participate in the national College Goal Sunday initiative with an event from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 12, in the Academic and Professional Center on the college’s Sugar Grove Campus, Route 47 at Waubonsee Drive. At this session, students and their families will work with financial aid staff members to get their free application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) filed electronically.

Electronic FAFSA filing will also be the focus of the college’s FAFSA Fair on Wednesday, Feb. 22. The event will run from 4 to 6 p.m. in room 215 of the college’s Aurora Campus, 18 S. River St.

Attendees of either event will need to bring their social security number and 2011 tax information so that their FAFSA can be filed.
