Board approves police contract

By on March 2, 2012

ELBURN—The board voted to approve a contract with the Elburn Police department in a 4-2 vote on Feb. 22, with trustees Jerry Schmidt and Ken Anderson opposed to the increase in pay that the contract reflects. The contract has been under discussion for the past eight months. Ken Anderson stated that he opposed the contract because of the pay increases.

“With the current economic situation, pay raises should not be part of the discussion,” Ken Anderson said. “Other things will have to get cut.”

The contract became effective Nov. 1, 2011 and will expire April 30, 2015.
