KYFL and Cheer begin

KANELAND—Kaneland Youth Football and Cheer (KYFL) is a youth sports league that plays and cheers in the the Midwest Youth “Big 12” Football Conference (MYFC). KYFL plays against other leagues in the MYFC; plus the Yorkville Foxes, Burlington Central Panthers and the DeKalb Bengals.
KYFL has a mission to ensure all participants learn football and cheer fundamentals, as well as team play, good sportsmanship and fair play, in a manner that allows them to enjoy the game.
KYFL strives so that each and every player receives the opportunity to maximize his or her individual potential through fair and equitable instruction.
Registration for (KYFL) for the 2012 Football season runs through May 31. The registration will be held online at www.KYFL.com KYFL is a tackle, flag and cheer program for children ages 5-11. The football season begins the last week of July and ends mid-October.
The flag program is for 5 and 6-year-olds and begins on Aug. 6. The season runs through Oct. The practices and games are held during the week.
The tackle program has teams for ages 7-8, 9, 10, and 11-year-olds. All age requirements are as of Sept. 1, 2012. There is no residency requirement. Practices begin on July 30 and games are played on Saturdays beginning Aug. 25. The season ends Oct. 12. Playoffs and championship are the next two weekends.
The cheer program has squads for children ages 6-11. Their practices begin on Aug. 1 and their season runs along with flag and tackle programs.
