Comment by informed on 16 April 2012:

“Sad days ahead for our small bedroom community.
Funny, that’s what people said before BBCreek was built.”

Yes, I have no doubt of that however, we got the " your not wanted here" impression from locals for several years.

BBC is "primarily" single family homes that are on lower density spacing lots more common to already existing development in Elbun.
There are no huge multilevel apartments,no high density spacings & and no business complexes.
IF BBC were to be built out tonight, it would represent approximately 1/5th the population of Elburn.
Elburn Station would represent approximately 1/3rd of the Elburn population on completion.
Elburn station is a "Transit Orientated Development" meaning URBAN HIGH Density.
What Drives TOD?
-Rapidly growing, mind-numbing traffic congestion nation-wide
-Growing >>>>distaste for suburbia<<<>>urban lifestyle<<<
-Growing desire for more walkable lifestyles away from traffic
-Changes in family structures: more singles, empty-nesters, etc
-Growing national support for Smart Growth
-New focus of Federal policy

Well, I can tell you I for 1 did not move to Elburn 8 years ago to live an urban lifestyle or deal with the associated crime that follows it..
