SGUMC summer worship schedule
SUGAR GROVE—Sugar Grove United Methodist Church recently announced its summer worship schedule, effective all Sundays, June through August.
The church will worship outdoors at 8 a.m. on Sundays under an open-air pavilion at UMC’s 40 acre Harter Road campus.
A golf cart is available for those who need assistance from the parking lot to the worship area. There is also indoor worship at 9:30 a.m. in the sanctuary at 176 Main St. in Sugar Grove. As always, the public is welcome to attend.
Pastor Steve Good’s last Sunday to preach at UMC will take place June 10 at the 8 (4S633 Harter Road) and 9:30 a.m. (176 Main St.) worship services.
After 18 years of pastoring at Sugar Grove UMC, the Bishop of the Northern Illinois Conference is moving Rev. Good to Channahon United Methodist Church (between Joliet and Morris) to replace a retiring pastor. His wife, ordained deacon Rev. Raney Good, has served the Sugar Grove church in many ways during that time. A farewell picnic for Pastor Steve, his wife Raney, and sons Dylan and Spencer will take place at 3 p.m. at the church’s 40 acre Harter Road campus.
Rev. Vickie Hadaway, currently pastor of Irving Park United Methodist Church in Chicago, will succeed Rev. Good, beginning July 1. Rev. Hadaway and her husband Mark will move to Sugar Grove from their current home in Oak Park, Ill.
