Ronald E. Reynolds, 78, of Geneva, passed away on Friday, Oct. 26, 2012, at his home, surrounded by his family. He was born July 16, 1934, in Aurora, the son of the late Lyle and Louise (Wickton) Reynolds.
Ron was a 1953 graduate of West Aurora High School. He served in the U.S. Army from 1957-59. Ron worked for Burgess-Norton and then Toastmaster, Inc. for 31 years. He held a passion for organizing his class reunions and enjoyed staying in touch with his classmates.
Ron is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Charlene (nee Calkins) Reynolds of Geneva; his children, Sally (Karl Cremieux) Reynolds, M.D., of Chicago, and Jeff (Gale) Reynolds, Ph.D., of Paxton, Ill.; three grandchildren whom Ron dearly loved, Clair and Rachel Reynolds of Paxton and Scott Cremieux of Chicago.
In addition to his parents, Ron was preceded in death by his siblings, Robert and Jack Reynolds, Shirley McNally and Grace Orr.
The family would like to offer special thanks to Dr. Bayer and his nursing staff, who treated Ronald for many years, as well as CNS Hospice nurses Beth and Linda.
Funeral services were held Tuesday at The Healy Chapel, 332 W. Downer Pl., Aurora. Interment with military honors was held at River Hills Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be directed to the American Cancer Society.
