The following reports were obtained from the Elburn Police Department. The individuals charged with crimes are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
Todd C. Janacek, 38, of Thornfield, Mo., was arrested at 3:41 a.m. April 5, for driving under the influence of alcohol. Police stopped him for speeding on Route 47 south of Hughes Road in Elburn. Police took temporary custody of a caged rooster and a dog that were in Janacek’s truck, which was towed from the scene.
Criminal damage to vehicle
Someone damaged a vehicle parked in a storage lot at 16 S. Dempsey St. in Elburn by throwing rocks at it sometime between 2 p.m. April 15 and 10:15 a.m. April 16.
At 9:20 a.m. April 17, a patrolman found a TX AT&T wireless phone duct-taped to a stop sign at Walker Drive and Collins Drive in Elburn.
DUI, drug paraphernalia possession
Brooke Ann Barringer, of the 15000 block of Keslinger Road in DeKalb, was arrested at 2:25 a.m. April 12 for driving under the influence of alcohol. She also was cited for unlawful consumption of alcohol by a minor and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia. Police stopped her on Anderson Road just north of Route 38 in Elburn, for speeding. A passenger in the vehicle, Stephanie L. Shelton, 19, of the 1000 block of Forest Trail in Sugar Grove, was arrested for unlawful consumption of alcohol by a minor and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia.
Driving while license suspended
Ellen San, 19, of the 2900 block of South Bonfield Street in Chicago, was arrested at 5:44 p.m. April 16 for driving while her license was suspended. Police stopped her on South Main Street near Kansas Street in Elburn, for speeding.
Eric F. Cadney, 19, of Rohrsen Road in Hampshire, was arrested at 8:35 a.m. April 4 for driving while his license was suspended. Police stopped him on Route 47 at Keslinger Road. He also was cited for not having vehicle insurance and for having tinted car windows.
Driving without a license
Armando M. Ferral, 17, of the 400 block of West Shannon Street in Elburn, was arrested at 5:01 p.m. April 11 for driving without having a valid license. Police stopped him on West Shannon Street in Elburn after observing him weaving in and out of the traffic lane on Route 47.
Dwight David Hedgcock, 48, of the 1800 block of Hatch Street in Downers Grove, was arrested on an outstanding warrant from DuPage County for failure to appear in court. Police stopped him for speeding, in the 100 block of West North Street in Elburn.
