Deja-Schultz receives NIU’s Outstanding Women Student Award

DEKALB—Gayle Deja-Schultz, a Sugar Grove resident and returning adult student at Northern Illinois University, was recently named the recipient of the Outstanding Women Student Award for the 2013 graduating class.

The award is part of the Presidential Commission on the Status of Women, and is intended to recognize the outstanding achievements and contributions to the university on the part of its graduating women.

“It was an honor just to be nominated, and I am absolutely thrilled to be a recipient of the award,” Deja-Schultz said.

Deja-Schultz is running as a Sugar Grove Village Board candidate on the April 9 General Election ballot.
