Safety Alliance Burn Camp set for May 1

By on April 30, 2009

Members of the Elburn and Countryside Fire Protection District will be on routes 47 and 38 collecting funds to “Fill the Boot” for the Illinois Fire Safety Alliance Burn Camp “I Am Me” on Friday, May 1, from 3 to 7 p.m.

Proceeds of the boot drive will help send young burn survivors to camp this summer. The Illinois Fire Safety Alliance will hold its annual Burn Camp “I Am Me” June 14-20, 2009 at YMCA Camp Duncan in Ingleside, Ill.

Burn Camp “I Am Me” invites young burn survivors to share their experience while being able to play and not feel self-conscious about how others may react to their scars.

Anyone knowing of a burn survivor who would benefit from Burn Camp “I Am Me,” or would like further information should contact the Illinois Fire Safety Alliance, P.O. Box 911, Mount Prospect, IL 60056 or call 1-800-634-0911.
