T&C Library Friends donate $3,750 for materials, programs

ELBURN—The Friends of the Town & Country Public Library, 320 E. North St., Elburn, at their annual membership meeting on Sept. 12, donated $3,750 to the library for adult and youth materials and programs. Items purchased include a new carpet for kids, toddler alphabet blocks and Copernicus Regal Reading and Writing Center to enhance story times, and other educational programs for young library patrons.

The money was raised from the Friends’ annual Elburn Days book sale and ongoing Book Nook sale. Joan Hansen, executive vice president of the Friends, presented the check to Library Director Lynn Alms. Other Friends members in attendance included Helen Harford, Director Jack Shallberg, Secretary Tania Miller, Director Robert Harford, President Lori Crimmins, Treasurer Bill Grabarek and Ivanka Grabarek.
