‘Run for Fund’ at Blackberry Creek

By on September 29, 2013

In an effort to promote health and wellness among the students at Blackberry Creek Elementary School, the Kaneland Blackberry Creek PTO will partner with Blackberry Creek School to sponsor a “Run for Fund” on Friday, Oct. 4.

The Run for Fund is an outdoor run-a-thon and walk-a-thon. This is a fun event that will get kids moving and raise money for the school at the same time. Students will collect donations to support their running and walking efforts, and they will be eligible for prizes when they collect $20 or more in donations.

The funds raised at this event will help fund the PTO for the entire year. Last year’s fundraisers allowed the PTO to fund grade-level field trips, sponsor assemblies, purchase Nooks, computer programs, playground toys, library and classroom books, fifth-grade T-shirts and class photos, math/reading/language pro- grams, classroom supplies, an illuminated out- door marquee sign, and many more needed items for students and the school.
