Letter: In support of Kramer for sheriff

By on March 13, 2014

I would like to take this opportunity to enthusiastically endorse Don Kramer as the next sheriff of Kane County. I have three reasons why I believe Don is the most qualified choice on March 18: his education, temperament and experience.

Don is the only sheriff’s candidate in the race that has obtained a master’s degree. He will be able to better design programs and services that will better serve our population as a whole. Don also has a great temperament, is not easily rattled and thinks in a very methodical manner. Don’s meek personality is also coupled with a strong sense of right and wrong. That combination will serve him and us very well as sheriff.

Politically, Don has conducted himself in a noble and worthy manner and deserves to be commended. As one of Don’s previous opponents, I can honestly say Don has always taken the high road. I believe his attitude and temperament have greatly contributed to taking that road. Lastly, Don has 30 years of experience in the Kane County Sheriff’s Office and has served four different sheriffs, receiving accolades from each sheriff. Don’s experience is not limited to just patrol, corrections or crime prevention—he has served well in every division of the office, including administration.

I ask that you please consider voting for Don Kramer in the March 18 primary. Don has conducted himself with honor and would make an excellent sheriff.

Rob Russell
Kane County Coroner
