Tickets now available for ‘The Drowsy Chaperone’
KANELAND—Musicals today just aren’t what they used to be. Elaborate scenery and special effects tend to take away from the beauty and magic that can happen with just the use of a few entrancing characters.
“The Drowsy Chaperone” is narrated by “The Man in Chair,” an eccentric, anxiety-ridden introvert who would prefer to stay at home listening to his records rather than interacting with society. As he reminisces about the feeling musicals used to give him, he asks his audience if he can play for them the record of his favorite musical, “The Drowsy Chaperone.” As he does so, the musical comes to life on stage.
Performances will take place Friday and Saturday, March 21-22, at 7 p.m., and Sunday, March 23, at 2 p.m, at Kaneland High School, 47W326 Keslinger Road. Tickets for “The Drowsy Chaperone” can be purchased online at the Kaneland website, www.kaneland.org, or at the Box Office. The Box Office will be open one hour prior to show time.
