Betty I. Neisendorf

Betty I. Neisendorf, 82, of Hampshire, Ill., passed away Friday, May 2, 2014, at her home, with her family by her side.

She was born June 7, 1931, in Maple Park, the daughter of Adam and Lois (Nevitt) Moser.

Betty was a member of Maple Park High School’s Class of 1949. She married Edward “Bud” Neisendorf on May 10, 1952, at St. Mary Church in DeKalb, and they resided at their farm near Burlington, Ill., for 60 years.

Betty retired from Burlington Central High School District 301, where she was the director of Food Service for 25 years. She was always supportive of her children’s and grandchildren’s activities, and was very active in her community. She was a dedicated volunteer of Easter Seals and the American Cancer Society. She had worked as an Avon representative, and had made plenty of wedding cakes.

She will be greatly missed by her husband, Bud; her children, Bev (Louis) Thies, Richard (Judi), Daniel “Boomer” (Peg), David (Pam), Tom (Jody), Tim (Peg) and Dean “Farmer” (Jenny); 14 grandchildren, Andrea, Courtney, Alyson, Abby, Amber, Adam, Samantha, Rachel, Jacob, Mary, Erin, Jill, Danielle and Christopher; four great-grandchildren, Raven, Brandon, Harper and William, and another great-grandchild due in June; two sisters, Bonnie (the late Louis) Priwer and Barb (Eric) Pinion; her aunt, Ruth (the late Emory) Voyles; many cousins, nieces and nephews, and many good friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and a granddaughter, Megan Neisendorf.

A celebration of Betty’s life will be held at a later date.

If desired, memorial contributions in her name may be directed to the Make-A-Wish (Team Meg) Foundation at KishHealth System Hospice.
