Burton A. Brown Jr., 68, of Maple Park, passed away Monday, April 28, 2014, at Delnor Hospital in Geneva.
He was born Feb. 12, 1946, in Indianapolis, the son of Burton and Mary (Jones) Brown.
Burton was raised in Kankakee, Ill., and attended Lincoln College. He graduated from Howe Military Academy in northeastern Indiana. Burton served four years in the Air Force as an airplane mechanic. He was an avid outdoorsman, and in his spare time Burton loved to golf and was very active with the Boy Scouts. He will be dearly missed by all those who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his loving wife, Julie (Salamone); son, Adam of Maple Park; sister, Gretchen (Larry) Morgan of Texas; brother-in-law, Norm (Laura) Salamone; nieces, Gina (Shaun) Callahan of Aurora and Kelly Morgan of Colorado; nephews, Derek (Kimberly) Morgan of Texas and Tyler Morgan of Texas; and many dear cousins, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Burton was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral service was held Monday at Malone Funeral Home, Geneva. Father Perfecto Vasquez officiated. Burial followed at Resurrection Cemetery in Geneva.
Visitation was held Sunday at Malone Funeral Home.
